An empty space.... Isn't so empty anymore!
It's so easy to become overwhelmed and not come up with a clear plan when there are so many ideas and thoughts running through your mind for a space! Sometimes you just need to put it aside, and give it a break. Most times (at least for me) when I do put it aside, GRAND ideas come to mind, and usually are the best of idea! So I encourage you to do that. If you find yourself becoming stressed because you can't finalize a plan on either a project or a piece of decor, get away from it for a little and focus on another project you're doing.
This space has been empty since Peter first moved in. I knew something should go here, but I just couldn't come up with a good plan for it. Well, last week I was looking on pinterest for some inspiration, something very similar to this popped up, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with our space! In case you want to check her out, it is Lara Kaighin's "Miss Fortunately" pinterest board. You won't be disappointed!
Foremost, I wanted something simple, useful, and pretty of course! But also not overbearing since it's not a large space. As far as making it useful, I wanted to have an area that our guests can hang their coats and place their shoes as they enter, and we found the solution! I also did not want to spend a fortune, I remembered I still had a gift card for Hobby Lobby, so the next morning I hopped in the car and I went off to the store!
I purchased:
- Sign ($29.99- 40%) = $17.99
- Greenery $4
- Metal plant holder ($9.99-66%) = $3.99
- Wooden peg rack $15.99 ( click here for link)
The bench and pillow, we already had!!!
Everything was easy to hang, and it all fit just perfectly in that little space! I am so thankful my bench fits so well there. I was shooting for a corner basket there originally, but I couldn't find anything skinny enough while also having some height. On a whim I remembered the white, shabby chic bench in our attic!!!!!!!!!!!! Went and grabbed it, placed it, and was so happy with the look! For now I brought down this pillow, but will probably replace it in the near future, because it's actually the Christmas accent pillow (in reverse) haha, but who would know?!
Overall, we very happy with the result, and it fills this spot just perfectly! Thanks for reading!!
