Our home decked out for Christmas!
Welcome back, I am so excited you're here!
I decorated a week earlier this year, and I have no regrets. One extra week of enjoying Christmas Decorations, I will take it!
I'm doing something a little different and will be sharing various views of our home decorated for Christmas! I haven't really done anything like this for previous posts, but it was time to mix things up.
Most of the décor that I used I had already on hand, but I do buy a few new things each year to spice it up, ya know what I mean?! :) I find that each year I tend to gravitate towards wintery décor, and I think it's because I know I can keep it up for longer and it's still just as cozy and Christmassy :)
So grab a comfy blanket, a hot cup of coffee and enjoy the read!
Entryway
This year this space is extra Christmassy, because we added a garland to our stairway! This garland is seriously my favorite! It's so real looking and good quality. I was really excited when hubby said "Brittany this space feels amazing, I think the garland is exactly what we needed to add to complete the space." The finishing touch to the garland was adding a pretty burgundy ribbon and bells.
Next is our Console table!
I am really pleased with how it turned out! Although there is more on this table this year, I feel it's not overbearing and it all flows nicely together! I found this set of reindeer from target for an affordable price, so the other pieces I have scattered elsewhere. Again we have so many different trees throughout our home and some of these Norfolk and bottle brush trees have been fun to use! Last year I did not use any ceramic homes that I had on hand, but this year I for sure wanted to get them out, I think they add such a cozy feeling especially the ones that light up. These ceramic houses are very similar to the ones we purchased at a local small shop business!
Our Entryway! A pretty and unlit flocked snowy tree which we added to an extra basket that I had on hand, next year I think I am going to add some lights to it! Sitting on top of our bench are some of my favorite Christmas pillows this year! A Hearth and Hand plaid pillow with a complimenting mini pillow also from Hearth& Hand. And lastly, above sits a frosted wreath that I found in the dollar section at Target, here is a similar wreath that I have found!
Dining Room/Nook
I could not wait to add a flocked Christmas tree to our dining room. Last year this tree was in our living room, but we got a live tree this year so I knew exactly where this tree was going! Oh I just love the warm glow it puts off in the room, especially since we didn't have this room even finished last Christmas!!
On our storage piece I simply added a dough bowl (linked is one similar) with a pine and green mixture to add some color!
Right off our Dining room, in the hallways space, are our newly added built ins! Please visit this link for all the details on our progress on renovating that space!
The Living Room
Mantel:
The mantel is probably one of my favorite things to decorate in our home, it's such a focal point and there is always so much potential! Of course we started with adding the garland (see the above links for the ribbon and bells), then adding some fun new stockings purchased from Target! I was going with a green theme this year, so we added a cute green knitted stocking, plaid stocking and lastly a crème stocking I think they compliment each other. I tell ya, the Hearth & Hand line always knocks it out of the park, seriously! Hobby Lobby is a fantastic place to go for everything, but in particular if your looking for wall art/signs they have a huge collection and if you go at the right time you'll even get 50-75% off! I found this Merry & Bright and Oh Holy Night Sign for 50% off. For more of a bold accent, I added these black metal houses, and they even light up too!
Coffee table:
I've been adding more and more rattan into my décor and I love it! I was going with a simple set up for our coffee table this year, and I really like how it turned out. See the below links for décor.
- Galvanized tree
- Christmas Tree candle (this one's very similar)
- Bead garland
- Rattan tray (linked a similar one - this was a thrifting find)
Breakfast Nook
This is the first year that I actually added to our breakfast nook, and I think it was simply because "we didn't really use it last year." But we have slowly been using this space more in the mornings to sip our coffee while enjoying such a pretty view outback! The décor here is very similar to what I did on our coffee table as well. We also added a wreath (which was my husband's idea) I loved it!!! It was the final touch to this space! See the below links for décor.
- Galvanized tree
- Round tray ( linked one is a similar product)
- candle
- Bead garland
Main Floor Bathroom
Seriously, I only changed 3 things in this bathroom and it instantly felt so cozy for Christmas! Friends, that's all it takes. It doesn't take a handful of things to change a space, it's the simple and small things that can make a big difference! Last year I bought these Galvanized trees and this wooden tree (linked is a similar one) off the dollar spot at Target!
Master Bedroom
Again going with the simplicity concept this year, I only added a few items to update this space for Christmas! I changed out our pillows on our bed including this mini pillow from Target. I used more of the tabletop flocked Christmas trees (linked is a similar one) along with one of my favorite candles I stumbled upon from Walmart!
And here is the 2nd flocked Christmas tree in our home! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Eventually we are adding an electrical fireplace in here and that is going to be the icing on the cake especially at Winter/Christmas time! Our flocked Christmas tree is from Walmart, after having them for 2 years they are still holding up great! I added some burlap snowy trees (Linked are similar trees) to flow with our flocked tree! And of course the reindeer totally fit in with the winter theme! We found him from hobby lobby.
Upper Hallway
Just a few months ago I added the sage bench and finally added some wall décor in the fall! So I was excited to switch it up for Christmas! I printed off the print off Unsplash for free! I added this pillow so the bench didn't' feel too empty either. Above I used a small nail and placed a mini wreath (linked is a similar one- this wreath I found a few years ago also in the dollar section). Lastly is another snowy flocked tree I found. Maybe I have too many snowy flocked trees around our home, but I am all for it and we have gotten nothing but many compliments so far... So I'm gunna keep them :)
And there you go friends!!! I know it was a long one, but I loved sharing our home which is all decked out for Christmas with you! I will say this is my favorite year so far with how the décor turned out, I find myself walking around quite often enjoying all the views. That my friends is what it's all about, being proud of your own work and the love you pour into your home!
