A mini Dining room refresh

It was time for a change in our dining room! Though decorations have changed over time in this space, something bigger just needed to be done to change the feel of the space!

A little bit of shiplap, some floating shelves and new lighting did the trick!I have to say.... I am obsessed with how it turned out, and now that we have done this little refresh & just some quick little changes has really made this space feel more like “us”.

Before we reveal the pretty current room let's look back over the years what it did look like.... The dining room was one of the first rooms we painted before Peter moved into the house, this is how it looked the first few years.

Don't get me wrong, at the time I just loved this space. My decor taste as changed over the past few years. I'm drawn to the clean, simple modern farmhouse look. But over time this room just didn't reflect my style. So the swipe of the paint brush, some shiplap, floating shelves and new light fixtures did the trick.

I am just in love with this space now, It's totally us!

Keeping our home all the same color, we painted the walls in Aggreable Gray by SW and the ceiling in covered in darkness by valspar.

We purchased shiplap from lowes, and painted them in gallery white by behr matching our kitchen cabinets and trim all throughout the house.

Against the shiplap are 2 beautiful beams purchased from a local home decor store, that is seriously my fav!!! It looks as if Chip and Joanna had been there! They go perfectly with our airstone backsplash and countertops. I'm sorry I don't have a link for the shelving.

We purchased this beautiful 3 light linear pendant, and boy did it just set a whole nother tone for this space! I am loving the metal and clear glass together. We actually then replaced all of our hallway lights to clear globe semi flush mount lights  to flow with this pendant light!

At the time I'm publishing this reveal, It's winter and Christmas so the decor is in full swing around here.

If you're curious as to where I purchased decorative items to fulfill this space, I've got ya covered!

Soooooo, I'd love to hear what you think about our mini Dining Room Makeover! What's your favorite?? Let me know in the comments!
